An elderly friend of mine, a retired doctor, was once asked by a customer, “Why don’t you just give her a check and buy a card?”
He replied, “Because she’s going to die before that happens.”
I thought to myself, I’m not old enough to know how to tell if someone is going to live or die, but I’m sure she would say, “I think that person is going too long.”
And she’s probably right.
But that’s exactly what you should be saying to someone you trust.
There are lots of ways to know whether a friend or family member is going well or badly, and you should always keep in mind that they are all people who deserve to know.
Here are a few things to keep in your mind when deciding who to trust.
Is the friend getting good or bad care?
Are they taking the time to learn?
Is she keeping up with their medical needs?
Will they be able to do their job as a doctor?
Is the person having an easy time with the care they’re receiving?
Will the person’s ability to communicate improve?
What is the person doing for work?
Are there signs of a financial crisis?
Are the friends doing well financially?
Are these people likely to stay healthy?
The more time we spend talking with friends and family members, the better.
And the more people you know, the more you can be sure that the person you’re talking to has a good idea of what to expect.
But this is all just a starting point.
You should also look at the age of the person being cared for, their age, and the type of care they are receiving.
It is important to recognize that, in some cases, the person who is receiving the care will need to be older.
In that case, you can ask, “Are they likely to have a hard time living with chronic illness?”
Or, “If you ask me, do I think they are going to be able and willing to take care of their aging parents?”
Or perhaps you can take a look at how much the person is being cared, and whether they’re in a good mental or physical condition.
The goal is to help the person to be as comfortable as possible and to provide as much as they can.
For some people, that might mean a physical therapist or an occupational therapist.
For others, it might mean just talking to a nurse.
And if the person can’t walk or talk on a simple level, you may want to consider seeing a physician.
If the person has dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, a physical health care professional may be helpful.
Sometimes a combination of different types of health care professionals can help a person with dementia.
But in general, your best bet is to get someone who knows about dementia and is comfortable talking to someone who is.
And you may also want to see a physician or a psychiatrist to get a sense of the extent of the problems the person may have.
It’s also important to keep track of the type and severity of the care being provided, so you know if you should expect more care or more difficulty.
For example, you might ask, Are they getting enough exercise?
Are their caregivers getting enough time to meet them?
If you’re concerned that the patient may not be getting enough care or that the care isn’t providing them with enough help, you should look at whether they are getting enough help in their homes, or their jobs, or in some other way.
If you do see that person needing additional help, it’s important to talk to them about that and find out whether they have a way to change their care.
If they are doing well, you probably don’t need to worry about the person needing more care.
But if they’re not doing well and you do want to give them more care, you need to make sure you ask if the family member has any resources available to help with the cost of care, or if the care provider is able to help.
And it’s a good opportunity to check if the doctor or nurse is getting enough training to be of value.
This may be a good time to ask whether there is a nursing home in the area that can help.
It may be time to call the county health department.
The county health departments are responsible for caring for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s, and they are often staffed with experienced nursing home staff.
They may be able help you determine if you need more help.
In some cases they may be willing to help pay for more care if you’re not able to get help from the county.
But you should also talk to your doctor about your care.
There is a lot to consider, but one important thing to remember is that the older you are, the harder it is to care for someone who needs more care than you do.
It might be worth trying to find someone with the same level of care who has been doing it for longer, and it may be worth calling the county and asking about the facility
